What’s in Your Spiritual Wallet?
Scripture:
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…”
— Matthew 6:19-20 (ESV)
Thought:
Every day, we carry a wallet filled with things we consider essential: ID, credit cards, cash, or even receipts from past transactions. But have you ever considered what’s in your spiritual wallet?
When trials come, do you have the currency of faith to make withdrawals of peace? When the enemy challenges your identity, can you pull out the identification of a child of God? When faced with a difficult decision, do you have the wisdom stored up from time spent in God’s Word?
Be encouraged to fill your spiritual wallet with:
• Faith – The currency that moves mountains (Matthew 17:20).
• God’s Promises – A security card reminding you that His Word never fails (2 Corinthians 1:20).
• Forgiveness – A grace card to extend to others, just as Christ extended it to you (Colossians 3:13).
• Prayer – Your direct access card to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16).
• Love – The most valuable treasure, which binds everything together (Colossians 3:14).
Take a moment to examine your spiritual wallet today. What’s missing? What needs to be replenished? Ask the Lord to fill you with His riches, because the wealth of His kingdom never runs dry.
Prayer:
Father God, help me store up the right treasures in my heart. Fill my spiritual wallet with faith, wisdom, and love so that I can walk in Your abundance. Thank You for reminding me that the most valuable things I carry are not material but eternal. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
