Wrestling Within

Wrestling Within

Scripture:

“For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.”

—Romans 7:15 (ESV)

Ponder This:

There’s a wrestle that lives inside every believer, the tension between what we know is right and what we sometimes still choose to do. It’s not just you. We all do it in some fashion. Whether it’s words we wish we didn’t say, attitudes we thought we had outgrown, or actions that don’t reflect who we are in Christ Jesus. We’ve all been there.

Even Paul, the apostle who penned much of the New Testament, admitted to this very struggle. He knew what was right, but sometimes still did what was wrong. This isn’t a sign that you’re failing, it’s a sign that you’re fighting. The flesh and the Spirit are at war.

The enemy wants us to feel ashamed, stuck, and disqualified. But God calls us to honest surrender. He doesn’t expect perfection. He desires progress, and His grace empowers us to rise again.

Each time we choose humility over hiding, repentance over regret, and Spirit over self, we are being shaped. This is a process that is holy and progressive.

Prayer:

Father, I admit the wrestle is real. I find myself doing things I know don’t align with You. But I thank You that Your Spirit is patient, powerful, and present. Strengthen me to walk in truth and freedom. I surrender the wrestle and receive Your grace. Thank you for maturing me. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Declaration:

I am not condemned. I am being transformed. The Spirit of God is working in me. I may wrestle, but I will not quit.
