You Can’t Have Me

Scripture:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” – James 4:7

Devotion:

The enemy’s goal is to deceive, distract, and destroy. He aims to rob us of peace, purpose, and confidence in God’s promises. But as believers, we have the authority to boldly declare, “You can’t have me!” The devil is already defeated by the blood of Jesus and has no power over those who belong to God.

To resist the enemy effectively, we must first submit fully to God. This means aligning our hearts, minds, and actions with His Word. By doing so, we activate the power of Christ within us and declare war on anything that threatens our faith, peace, and joy.

When the enemy whispers lies of doubt, fear, or discouragement, respond with God’s truth. When he attempts to tempt or distract, remind him of his defeat. Stand firm and say, “You can’t have me! I belong to God!”

Practical Application/Strategy:

1. Anchor Yourself in Scripture:

Memorize key verses like James 4:7, 2 Timothy 1:7 (“God has not given us a spirit of fear…”), and Ephesians 6:10-18 (the armor of God). Speak these scriptures aloud when you feel under attack.

2. Pray Proactively:

Begin your day with prayer, asking God for strength, clarity, and discernment to recognize the enemy’s schemes. Cover your mind, family, and decisions in prayer.

3. Guard Your Thoughts:

Pay attention to your mental diet. Avoid negativity, fear, or temptation-inducing content. Instead, focus on things that are true, noble, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

4. Declare Victory Out Loud:

When you feel spiritually attacked, use the authority of Jesus. Say: “In the name of Jesus, I rebuke you, Satan! You can’t have me, my family, my peace, or my purpose!”

5. Surround Yourself with Believers:

Stay connected to a strong community of faith. Share your struggles, pray with others, and let them remind you of God’s promises.

Declaration:

I am a child of God. My heart and life belong to Him. I submit to God, resist the devil, and stand in the power of Jesus Christ. No matter what comes, I will not be moved. Devil, you can’t have me!

Prayer:

Father God, I thank You for the victory You’ve already given me through Jesus. Help me to stand firm in faith, resist the devil’s schemes, and declare Your truth over my life. Give me discernment to see his tactics and the strength to overcome every attack. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
